About Letters to Foster Kids

Your story isn’t over—because God isn’t finished.

I know what it feels like to grow up without stability, without safety, and without the loving arms every child deserves. I know what it’s like to feel unseen, unheard, and unwanted. For years, I carried the weight of abandonment, abuse, and fear. But I also know what it’s like to have someone step in—someone who chooses to see you, believe in you, and fight for you.

This blog was born out of that mission. Letters to Foster Kids is my way of reaching into the heart of every child who feels forgotten, to tell you that you matter, you are loved, and your story is still being written. Through these letters, I share pieces of my own journey—the struggles, the mistakes, the hope, and the faith that carried me through.

Some letters will be raw and honest, because life in foster care can be hard and unfair. Others will be full of encouragement and truth from God’s Word, because that truth was what helped me rise above my circumstances.
Whether you’re a foster child, an adoptee, or someone who just needs a reminder that your life has purpose—these words are for you. My prayer is that through each post, you’ll hear the same thing I wish someone had told me:

You are not defined by where you came from. You are defined by Who made you.

And the One who made you has plans for your future—plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

So, wherever you are in your journey—welcome. You’re seen here. You’re valued here. And you’re never alone.
